Benefits of dog walking

Highly active dogs will be much more relaxed in their home when walked for 30 minutes to an hour. Group walks have been known to encourage social activity – this in turn encourages essential exercise. Human interaction and play are vital to a dog’s health.

Benefits of pet visits

Pets are cared for on their own territory, which is much less stressful for them. Homes with multiple pets are catered for. Home security is enhanced, giving you peace of mind whilst you’re on holiday.

My Services

Free Pre-Service Visit

An informal visit where I visit you and your pet/s at home for around half an hour. This gives me the opportunity to meet your pets and discuss your requirements. I will gather detailed information about your pet’s likes/dislikes, any special routine/requirements. My goal is to provide the best possible care for your loved one, please be open and give as much information as possible. We can then discuss what you want from Ollie’s Pet Care and tailor make an agreement to suit you and your pet’s needs.

Dog Walking/visits

Solo

1 hour walk = £11 per hour. I offer a discount for a 2nd dog from the same household, both at £15 per hour.
30 minute walk = £8.00 per half hour with 2nd dog discount at £5 per half hour.

Group Dog Walks

Does your dog like to socialize with other dogs?... Then a group dog walk could be perfect for them.
Pricing may vary dependant on the number of dogs in the group. Please call to discuss this option/prices.

Pop in visit

If your dog is happy at home and simply wants to be let out for a comfort break and have a little fuss - I can pop around and spend some time with them from £6 per visit.*

Pet Visiting Service

At work all day or off on holiday but don’t want to leave your furry friends in a cattery or alone?
Then my pet visiting service could be for you. Tailor made to meet you and your pet/s needs. I will visit your pet (cats, rabbits, small animals, small birds and fish – sorry no reptiles or snakes). I will feed them, give them fresh water, change their litter or clean their hutches/cages if necessary*. Most importantly, I’ll spend time with your pet fussing or simply offering some company – dependant on their preferences. This service costs from £6 per visit.*

Additional services at no extra cost during pet visiting service

  • Switching lights off/on
  • Drawing curtains/blinds
  • Watering plants
  • Putting bins out for collection and taking in again

Hi, my name is Nik and I offer a dog walking and pet visiting service in Hucknall and the surrounding areas.

I have been surrounded by dogs, cats and small pets my entire life. My husband and I have 2 fur babies – our boys: Mylo & Cosmo. They are our world and we can’t imagine life without them and their shenanigans. We rescued them as kittens after our gorgeous westie OIlie passed away. Ollie was the most precious West Highland Terrier, whom we had the pleasure of spending 13 happy years with – making lots of memories. When he passed, it left a huge hole in our hearts that has never been filled. Since losing Ollie, I’ve spent many happy hours walking family and friend’s dogs and decided to start my own dog walking/pet visiting business and name it in Ollie’s honour! I love animals and my number one priority is giving them the love and attention they deserve. They give so much to us and make such a difference to our lives!

Can’t recommend Nik enough, she looks after our pooch on an adhoc basis (works out around once a week). She does a lovely job, Ollie is a high energy boy but he always seems tired after their long walks. Nik also tailors the walks to the doggy's needs and wants - Ol loves the water, so he’s often trotting about streams when they’re out together. We’ve been with Nik since she started, so wellies were soon on her shopping list. As he’s super bouncy and playful, Ol can be a bit of a handful, but Nik seems to take it in her stride. It’s also great to get the updates and pics! Nik is also just a lovely person, and it’s nice to have such a warm, caring lady taking care of our much loved fur baby

Nik popped in and fed our extremely nervous cat, Hollie, over the last couple of days. She was extremely helpful and lovely! She sent us WhatsApp messages and pictures after she had visited! She even managed to give Hollie a little bit of fuss and got a purr which is extremely difficult to do! It put our minds at rest whilst we enjoyed my sisters wedding! Leaving our boisterous 22 month old Labrador “Lusty” for the first time with family for our 11 day holiday was so hard and made me very anxious as we know he is very much a challange.. However knowing that Nik was coming to walk him twice a day was very reassuring. We couldn’t have asked for more!! We had regular updates and photos while away, and on our return family told us how excited lusty was to see Nik when she came to collect him. Nik walked him at the same time everyday for the 11 days, on our return home he was clearly missing her as at when Nik was due to arrive he sat at the door/window looking and crying !! We also noticed his behaviour on the lead has improved as well so can only assume her training skills are fab also. We will definitely be using her in the future and will look forward to our next holiday without worry!!

I used Nik at Ollie’s Petcare services while I was away for a week to look after my pet giant rabbit. Bernard is not the friendliest of rabbits and can be quite aggressive, so I am always a little reticent about new people looking after him. However, it would appear that Nik has a little bit of animal magic about her and she and Bernard got on like a house on fire. Nik kept me updated throughout my week away and even sent me pictures. I found this really reassuring and a genuinely nice touch. I have since used Nik on a couple of occasions for dog walking my excitable Sprollie Betty. Betty loves Nik and I think it is a bit of a treat for her to have someone else walk her. I really appreciate that Nik is happy to take Betty on an ad-hoc basis and I haven’t had to commit to a regular walking pattern, as it is only every so often that I need a walker. Knowing that Nik has a secure key safe has meant that I am comfortable leaving her with my door key, so I can call on her should I find myself in a situation where I’m not able to get home to Betty and Bernard.
I would definitely recommend Nik at Ollie’s Petcare. She clearly cares a great deal about the animals she looks after and I am more than happy to entrust her with my precious fur babies and my home!
